Biography
Yi-Syuan (Ethan) Jian is a doctoral student in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice. He earned his Bachelor's degree at Central Police University in Taiwan in 2015 and completed his Master's degree at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2021. He has worked as a police detective working at the Criminal Investigation Bureau in Taiwan for six years. Ethan's broader research interests include policing, police decision-making process, police mental health, cybercrime, and evidence-based crime policy. His current work includes a research project on examining how the impact of technology and media on police officers' perceived procedural justice, and a research project examining the applicability of different criminological theories in predicting the overlap of cyberbullying perpetration and victimization among young people.
